Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling in Wheaton, IL
Located in the heart of DuPage County, Wheaton is a community with a long and colorful past.
First settled by brothers Warren and Jesse Wheaton in 1837 and later incorporated in 1859, Wheaton became the seat of DuPage County government in 1868. The move was the result of two controversial referendum votes that moved the entire county government from Naperville.
As county records were delivered from Naperville to Wheaton, Civil War veterans from Naperville conducted a late-night raid and seized some of the records. The records then were taken to Chicago and were later destroyed in the Chicago Fire of 1871. Following a long court battle, Wheaton was finally declared the county seat the same year.
Today, Wheaton is home to about 53,000 residents and consistently has been named in studies as one of the best places to live in the United States.
Wheaton is also the hometown of AM Kitchen & Bath’s founder Adam Ludwig, and he is a graduate of Wheaton North High School.
